By Anil Parajuli,Hetauda, June 4:  The number of people infected with dengue in Makwanpur has reached 887. According to the data provided by the Public Health Office, Makwan- pur, 454 males and 433 females were confirmed to be infected with dengue between August 18, 2023, to June 2, 2024. Information Officer of the Public Health Office in Makwanpur, Laxman Ghimire said that dengue infections have begun to appear in the district with the onset of summer. The highest number of dengue infections in the district have been reported in Hetauda Sub-Metropoli- tan City.

Dengue infection has been con- firmed in 569 people, including 282 men and 287 women, in Hetauda. However, only one male has been infected with dengue in Kailash Rural Municipality. Similarly, three males have been infected with dengue in Thaha Municipality, 21 in Makwanpur- gadhi Rural Municipality, 24 people in Bagmati Rural Municipality, 73 people in Manahari Rural Munici- pality, four in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, 37 in Bhimphedi RuralMunicipality, 26 in Bakaiya Rural Municipality and three in Rakshing Rural Municipality.

According to the Public Health Office, Makwanpur, dengue infec- tion has been confirmed in 82 people, including 42 men and 40 women at Hetauda Hospital. Of these, 14 were from other districts, whereas the addresses of 30 individuals were not disclosed. One person died of dengue infec- tion in the district. In last fiscal year, a total of 5,864 people were infected with dengue in Makwanpur, includ- ing 3,205 men and 2,659 women.
